What to see?

The historic Stara Varos district in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, attracts numerous visitors with its beautiful Ottoman-era mosques and captivating atmosphere. Right after, the enchanting exhibitions hosted at Petrovic Palace are a must-see. With motor yachts or catamarans, you can easily discover Montenegro’s spectacular islands, best beaches, and hidden bays.

Durmitor National Park: Known for its glacier-carved mountains, this is one of the most impressive natural reserves in Europe. Located in northwest Montenegro and covering over 32,000 hectares, Durmitor offers breathtaking scenery. You can enjoy rafting in the crystal-clear waters of the Tara River — home to Europe’s deepest canyon — or take a boat trip through its wild landscape. After exploring Durmitor National Park, you can continue your adventure with an unforgettable Montenegro yacht charter.

Cetinje: Nestled on the slopes of Mount Lovcen, this historic town was founded in the 15th century and is considered the spiritual and cultural heart of Montenegro. Its monasteries, significant both architecturally and religiously, are essential places to visit.

Skadar Lake: Located just 7 km from the Adriatic coast, Skadar Lake is the largest natural water body in the Balkans. One-third of the lake is surrounded by lush mountains, and part of it lies within Albania. Montenegro alone is home to more than 270 different bird species, including rare and endangered varieties, as well as rich flora and fauna.

What to eat?

Although Montenegrin cuisine varies from region to region, it is generally very similar to Mediterranean cuisine. Local dishes are heavily based on fish and meat. As in Turkey, pastries are commonly preferred. One signature dish is Rastan cabbage, made with handmade sausage and mutton. Another must-try is Kačamak — a delicious blend of potatoes and cheese. For an authentic culinary experience, you can visit the famous Galion Restaurant in Kotor.
